Once best friends now strangers with memories

Rick & I are Navy reserve friends beginning one cold day at Great Lakes Naval Base. The weather was horrific as it can be for a February later turning to a blizzard. We had gone to Chicago and was separated from the group over the week-end. We traveled back to the Twin Cities together developing a friendship lasting over 30 years. We had many adventures of which Rich would bring up his days with his grandfather and the time spent on the farm. I also came from a rural community with most of my aunts/uncles as well as both sets of grandparents being farmers.

As we aged, our priories changed. I worked temporary jobs, taking me out of the state. Rick was getting closer to retirement and seemed to have angst over the future. We lost touch. Then I received this photo, which I included and brought me back to our friendship. '

I now live out of the country and breeze into the Twin Cities just to catch a jet. But the memories are fine. We each are in a different chapter of our lives. Peace.
