Bath Powder Ingredients

Bath powders are a delightful way of scenting your body after a bath or shower. I have two homemade bath care powder recipes here – an invigorating powder to get you going in the morning and a calming, soothing recipe to help you relax and get a great night’s sleep. Both of these powders use essential oils for both emotional and physical healing.

Homemade Bath Care
Invigorating Morning Bath Powder

The rosemary essential oil will clear your mind, improve your memory and fill you with energy. Use this bath powder in the morning, after taking a bath or shower. You’ll be pumped for the day.

  • One third cup rice flour
  • One third cup cornstarch
  • 5 to 10 drops rosemary essential oil

Allow the powder to settle and then spoon the mixture into a clean, dry container. Add the essential oil and stir.  Wait two weeks for the oil to completely incorporate all of the powder before using.

Relaxing Nighttime Bath Powder

Ylang ylang essential oil is good for releasing anger and helping you relax. Use this homemade bath care powder if you take a bath before bedtime.

  • One third cup rice flour
  • One third cup cornstarch
  • 5 to 10 drops ylang ylang essential oil

Place the rice flour, cornstarch and essential oil in a food processor and blend for one minute, allowing all the ingredients to blend thoroughly. Allow the powder to settle and then spoon the mixture into a clean, dry container. Allow the powder to set for two weeks to allow the essential oil to completely incorporate all of the powder before using.

Massage Oil Recipe

These two massage oil recipes are good for relaxation and for easing aches and pains.

Use this wonderful oil on a loved one suffering from aches and pains from a hard day’s work.  Clary sage essential oil is not only good at easing pain, it also helps with insomnia and is uplifting. Be sure to avoid alcohol for an hour before and after using this massage oil.

  • 1 cup sweet almond oil
  • Oil from 6-8 vitamin E oil capsules
  • 20 drops Clary Sage essential oil

Mix well. Let this oil sit for a few days to make certain the essential oil has been evenly distributed. Massage it onto sore muscles and enjoy!
